JEREMY FILSELL was awarded an FRCO with all the major prizes at the age of 19, read Music as an Organ Scholar at
Keble College Oxford and studied Piano at the Royal College of Music as a post graduate under David Parkhouse and Hilary
McNamara. As an established Piano Recitalist, he has appeared at many major UK concert venues(including the Wigmore
Hall & St John’s Smith Square) and festivals and has worked regularly with the BBC Singers, the European Contemporary
Music Ensemble, City of London Sinfonia and Pimlico Opera. He has performed Concertos by Mozart, Beethoven,
Shostakovich and Ireland both here and in the USA and recorded for Gamut (re-released by Guild)in 1994, Piano works by
Herbert Howells and Bernard Stevens: “...Filsell is extremely accomplished technically. He nonetheless does not attract for

his virtuosity but for his ability to make the music unfold with irresistable logic and clarity: music-making of the highest

calibre.”"(CLASSIC CD)
As a Concert Organist (he won 2nd prize in the 1993 St Albans International Competition and
has studied under Nicolas Kynaston and Daniel Roth in Paris) he has recorded Recitals & Concertos for BBC Radio 3,
performed throughout the UK in every major Cathedral and Town Hall, has performed asa soloist extensively in France,
Germany, Russia and has undertaken two solo tours of the USA. In the UK he is represented by Clifton Wyatt Artist

Management and in the USA by Philip Truckenbrod Concert Artists.
Jeremy Filsell’s recordings appear on Gamut, Herald, Guild and ASV and in 1992, a disc of

Vierne & Widor Symphonies was nominated as a GRAMOPHONE Critic's choice. This year has seen the release on GUILD
of the complete Piano music of Eugéne Goossens, a disc of the two Sonatas (for Piano and Organ) by Julius Reubke and
one of French Organ Concertos with Barry Wordsworth and the BBC Concert Orchestra(GUILD). “...1 must register
a

certain shock at the sheer brilliance of his playing. Technically he is outstanding, but what impresses me most is his
uncanny musical insight and the sheer persuasive power of his performances... He clearly posesses exceptional
_ntusicianship and considerable technical virtuosity.” (GRAMOPHONE UK) The Belgian publishers Editions Chantraine
are to publish next year, three Organ transcriptions of Pierre Cochereau Improvisations( Variations sur Adeste Fideles

(1970)/Variations sur un vieux Noel (1972)/ Scherzo Symphonique (1974)) prepared by Jeremy.
