Dear Choir Member,

Just a short note to remind you that our first rehearsal is on Monday 7th

September at our usual venue in the Methodist Hall. I have enclosed our rehearsal
schedule for the rest of 98 ( the full season will be available at rehearsal). Jeremy

writes: - The rehearsals are the minimum requirement for us to learn the music for
each concert. Please mark them in your diary especially the extras and be sure to

attend them all. The programme for the year is challenging and exciting, and we shall
need all the time allocated for us to present the top quality performances that we
would wish to attain.

I also include the Philharmonic Brochure which I am sure will be of interest to
you if you have not as yet seen it !!

Chris Robinson, our Treasurer, would like to remind everyone that our
subscription is due to be paid to him in full before the 1st October, or members should
see him to arrange other ways to pay, e.g. by standing order ora series of post dated
cheques etc. As stated at the AGM, the subscription will remain the same as last year,

i.e. £80 if paid as previously mentioned or £90 if paid after 1st October without
arrangements being made thorough Chris.

Finance, as always, is very important to us, our Borough grant will be less this
year, and so I urge everyone to covenant their subscriptions. This is a painless, no
catch method of HM Government adding £20 to each subscription. I know that many
of you work for wealthy companies; would you do all you can to obtain sponsorship
for us, personal contacts are known to be the most successful.
As mentioned at the AGM, we are having a recruitment drive and so please do

your utmost to introduce new members to the Choir especially Tenors! Have you put
your posters up yet?

I said much at the AGM and do not propose to repeat myself except to say that I shall
do my utmost to ensure that our second Borough Concert is restored to us as the
Borough Choir.

We have again arranged an exciting and full programme for the season, and as I said
last year, it requires commitment, good attendance and teamwork on the part of every
member so that we can make a just claim to be the Premier Choir of the South of
England.

With all best wishes

John

Trigg (Chairman)
