cannon on stage - and the
Vivace Chorus will come in
with a choral rendition at the
end of the piece.
Hilary Trigg, of Onslow
Village, whose husband John is
chairman, said: “We decided
we wanted to establish ourselves as an independent
choral group and changing our
name in this way also gave us
the opportunity to branch out
in other areas, not just be
involved in the Guildford area.”
This new independence will
take themfar afield to Frieburg
in Germany this year where
they will perform the Verdi
Requiem, along with other concerts at Guildford Cathedral,
Holy Trinity
Church
in
Guildford.
The Fairfield Halls concert
will be the 12th annual LNOP
concert and will once again
feature the Croydon Symphony
Orchestra.
Invitations
are
being sent to local war veterans
who will be VIP guests for the
Vivace Chorus in
concert
MEMBERS of Vivace Chorus,
formally
the
Guildford
Philharmonic Choir, are in fine
voice for their first season
which includes a charity concert to raise money for the
CHASE hospice.
The concert is at Croydons
Fairfield Halls on Saturday,
September 17, and is special,
being a VE and VJ-Day celebration in addition to the 200th
anniversary of the Battle of
Trafalgar.
Among the programme for
the Vivace Chorus will be
Henry Wood’s C Fantasia and
Rule Britannia.
There will also be a rousing
version of the 1812 Overture
Surrey M .‘

- evening.
There will be a grand raffle
with splendid prizes including
£1,000 cash, television and
return flights
to New York.
All proceeds from the conccert will go to CHASE children’s
