Guitdferd Pritha
“My greatest hope for next
season is to be back with all my
good colleagues on the platform
and with you in the audience.
To mention my own concerts
first,
I
Schumann
look
with
forward
to
John
Lill,
Beethoven with Peter Cropper
and, of course, Belshazzar’s
Feast in the International Music
Festival.
You will notice a number of
Dvorak’s beautiful Slavonic
Dances in the programmes and I
must welcome the distinguished Charts ey as
guest conductors Meir Minsky,
Jacek Kaspszyk, Brian Wright,
my good friend En Shao and our own Vernon Handley, Neville
Creed, John Forster and the Choir’s friend, Hans Beuerle,
marking Guildford’s association with Freiburg.
Another great feast of music for you — make sure of your seats
and book NOW.”

The Orchestra was founded in 1945 by Guildford Borough
Council, and Principal Conductor, Sir Charles Groves succeeded
to appeal to all music lovers — there really is something for
everyone. Celebrated musicians highlight each season, and
children’s concerts and educational projects are frequently held.
An ‘Adopt a Player’ scheme introduces young audiences to the
players, and workshops promoted in association with the County
Music Inspectorate help to cultivate composition skills amongst
Bax
performed with financial support from the Arnold Bax Trust.
